About
Friends of Crystal Parks was established as a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization in 2005. Formerly the Crystal Fund for Community Progress, is a vehicle to provide individuals and businesses a means of making charitable contributions to enhance the quality of life within the city of Crystal.
Over time, the mission was focused on supporting Crystal’s parks and neighborhoods. Two annual fundraisers were established; Cheers to Crystal and a plant sale.
Friends of Crystal Parks is a volunteer-driven organization that allows community members to volunteer or financially support its 26 parks.
Volunteer opportunities include board membership, helping plan and operate the Arbor Day event, and the Plant Sale.

Board of Directors
The Board of Directors plays a key role in shaping the organization’s mission while ensuring strong financial stewardship. As a hands-on, working board, members help plan and bring annual fundraising events to life.
Ideal board members bring experience or interest in marketing and communications, fundraising, volunteer management, and strategic planning. Board members serve as active advocates and ambassadors for the Friends of Crystal Parks, fully engaging in efforts to identify and secure volunteers, financial resources, and partnerships that advance the organization’s mission.
Board meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month from 7–8 p.m., either at the Crystal Community Center or virtually via Zoom.
